  • (Abstract) The Luxembourg National Seismic Network (LuxSNet) is operated by the European Center for Geodynamics and Seismology (ECGS) and is under continuous development. The purpurse of LuxSNet is to allow for a continuous monitoring of seismic activity within and around the Luxembourg territory and provide high-quality seismological data for scientific research. The first broadband station operating continuously in Luxembourg was installed in the Walferdange Underground Laboratory for Geodynamics in collaboration with the GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences in 1994 (station WLF, network GE), and short-period seismological observations were collected in collaboration with the Royal Observatory of Belgium at stations Kalborn (KLB) and Vianden (VIA) since the 1980ties. In late 2009, the first additional broadband stations were installed in collaboration with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), originally planned as a longer-term, yet temporary experiment (Geotech KS-2000 sensors). Over the years, ECGS added further stations and the whole network was equipped with Guralp 3ESPC (60s) and Nanometrics Trillium Compact (120s and 20s) sensors, with respective acquisition systems Guralp CMG-DM24S3EAM and Nanometrics Centaurs. At the time of writing, the network consists of 12 broadband stations (plus station WLF). All data are acquired in real-time via Seedlink with sampling frequency of 200 Hz. Waveform data are made available without restrictions through the European Integrated Data Archive (EIDA) of the GEOFON data centre. Further information on the network and ECGS’s activities can be found on www.ecgs.lu. Waveform data is available from the GEOFON data centre, under network code LU. Data is updated daily.
